PB Foundation Annual Meeting – April 24-25, 2023
Metter PB Church, Metter, GA
Greetings to our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
Mark your calendar now! After three years of cancellations due to COVID, we are now on GO for this year!
Monday, April 24, will be mostly Foundation Executive Committee business meetings, including receiving reports from sponsored and affiliated organizations. The evening program will be a message from God’s Word.
Tuesday, April 25, will be the Directors’ meeting.
The Metter Primitive Baptist Church, Metter, GA, has unanimously agreed to host our meeting this year.
THANKS TO GOSHEN
I want to personally give a ‘Shout Out’ to our Brothers and Sisters at Goshen PB Church in Missouri. They were planning to host our meeting last year, but it had to be cancelled due to COVID. They were excitedly planning to host our meeting this year, but several critical factors caused us to consider changing the location. We apologize for your disappointment and for any inconvenience, and hope we can return there for a future meeting. We greatly appreciate your loyalty in having your representatives at virtually all of our annual meetings.
WHY THE CHANGE
After much prayer and discussion, Foundation Officers and Executive Committee members decided unanimously to relocate the meeting this year back to a central location near most of our churches. We felt that after three years with no meetings, it was critically important to make it possible for the largest number of Directors and others, including Elders, committee representatives and others, to attend in person this year.
It is imperative that we do everything possible to re-energize our organization after such a long period with no meetings. We firmly believe that this meeting is the time and place to start doing that. It is essential to update our Foundation Directors (church representatives), and through them our churches, about what has been done during this trying time to keep the organization going, and what needs to be done now and in the future.
It is also a time to affirm the leadership of our organization for the coming year(s). Everyone currently serving in leadership positions is doing so on a temporary emergency appointment basis. All positions are to be filled: President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, and six Executive Committee Member positions.
DETAILED INORMATION BEING MAILED
Our very efficient Secretary-Treasurer, Brother Darryl Harris, is currently mailing more detailed information about the meeting, so be on the lookout for it.
> It has been extremely difficult to maintain current contact lists for all member churches during this down time. So, if you receive the information from Brother Darryl, please share it with other appropriate persons. Many of our churches will be having conferences soon to elect your Director and Alternate Director (church representatives) for this meeting. This information is critical to that process, so please share the information immediately.
> As mentioned above, this meeting is of utmost importance, so please do everything possible to have your Director and Alternate Director attend the Tuesday Directors’ meeting in person. Pastors are also encouraged to attend. Everyone is invited.
THANKS
THANK YOU for your past support for our Foundation. Your personal involvement and financial support are critical to its success in meeting the needs of many individuals and churches, including financial assistance to struggling churches, retired pastors and widows; also for our Bible Study literature, the PB Library and Archives, the Ministers Retirement Program, and other worthy projects.
Lastly, PLEASE REMEMBER OUR FOUNDATION MEETING AND ALL WHO WILL BE INVOLVED IN YOUR PRAYERS!
