Lending a Helping Hand
Committee of the Primitive Baptist Foundation MISSION: The Lending a Helping Hand Committee will seek ways to support and encourage struggling Progressive Primitive Baptist churches that desire to continue to worship as a congregation. MEMBERS: Terms of appointment: indefinite Donnie H. Smith, PB Foundation Vice President Walter Daniel, PB Foundation Assistant Treasurer Kay Guy, member of PB Foundation Executive Committee Elder Steve Taylor, Pastor Brooklet PB Church Resources: Darry Harris, Secretary/Treasurer PB Foundation Elwyn Deal, President PB Foundation WAYS TO ASSIST 1. Lending a Helping Hand Support Team Our churches as a group do not have a structure available to assist, encourage or address the needs of struggling churches. We will encourage any congregation that needs help reach out to the Lending a Helping Hand Committee. A team will be made available to meet with the churches and talk with them, discuss their needs, and explore options for assistance. If specific needs can be identified, we will attempt to help meet those needs. 2. Financial Assistance The PB Foundation has earmarked $62,500 to support this plan Each church applying for assistance will have different needs, therefore we are not establishing specific guidelines or qualifications. For example, the funds can be used to:
Funds will be available for a one-time gift only, with the church deciding on the best way to use the funds. GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATIONS The church will submit a letter to PB Foundation Vice President Donnie Smith with their vision, details on how the funds will be used, and the expected outcome. Applications for financial support will be accepted until September 30, 2019. The Committee will review all applications and decide how the money will be allocated and will award in a timely manner. |
